Enjoying local wildlife has been my inspiration to create wood carvings that both showcase the subject and bring the viewer the closest possibe to nature. I sculpt "Found Wood", just as nature left it.
Within a piece of stump, branch or root I see wildlife and the beauty of the wood combining into a sculpture.
Sometimes the wood inspires the subject and somtimes I have the subject and search out the wood.
You might say that sculpting found wood is only "exposing what nature has left behind."
